Sinopsis: "Does one need four fully grown foxgloves for decorating a dinner table for six guests? Or is it six foxgloves to kill four fully grown guests?" Sophronia's first year at Mademoiselle Geraldine's Finishing Academy for Young Ladies of Quality has certainly been rousing! For one thing, finishing school is training her to be a spy (won't Mumsy be surprised?). Furthermore, Sophronia got mixed up in an intrigue over a stolen device and had a cheese pie thrown at her in a most horrid display of poor manners. Now, as she sneaks around the dirigible school, eavesdropping on the teachers' quarters and making clandestine climbs to the ship's boiler room, she learns that there may be more to a field trip to London than is apparent at first. A conspiracy is afoot--one with dire implications for both supernaturals and humans. Sophronia must rely on her training to discover who is behind the dangerous plot--and survive the London Season with a full dance card.

English version:
Gail Carriger’s books have an entertaining narration, enjoyable and at any point of time the book becomes tedious or heavy. That’s an amusing reading and, with the Victorian setting mixed with fantasy, the book is highly recommended for everyone who wants to read about spies, werewolves, vampires and teatime with mystery of poison.

Curtsies and conspiracies continues where the first book finished, Sophronia has a gift for espionage, so much that even in the Academy she starts to have problems with the professors and her partners. The plot centers around the truth of Monique, with the vampire who is behind the prototype.
Other male characters have more importance in this second book, like Felix who appeared in the end of the first book, but Soap continues showing in the story, more, and obviously, both guys are the love interest of Sophronia, both sides of the coin since Felix’s an aristocrat while Soap works in the boiler room.
Pillover, Dimity’s brother, returns.
This book has been an amazing reading and Gail Carriger always shows, with every book, a plot very balanced, with a high setting where you can see the harmony of fantasy and Victorian era like it was real. She transports us to that era and our imagination flies.

Curtsies and conspiracies has been another wonderful book, and which no doubt, you have to read the next book to know the next adventure of Sophronia.
